Following the Nuggets' overtime loss to the Warriors, forward Kenneth Faried had to leave Oracle Arena in a stretcher after colliding with a teammate and apparently hurting his neck. Faried was taken to a hospital to have X-rays taken for precautionary reasons, according to the Nuggets.

The Nuggets big man couldn’t finish the game after hurting his neck on a collision with a teammate.


The play that caused the injury took place with 15 seconds to go in overtime. Klay Thompson drove to the rim for a layup. Marreese Speights pushed Faried on the back and teammate Will Barton, who was contesting the shot, crashed into him as he was landing.

— The Cauldron (@TheCauldron) January 3, 2016 Faried immediately showed signs of pain and he was taken off the game. He sat in the baseline with his head down and doctors tending to him before being carted out in a stretcher after the game ended.

The fifth-year forward had 15 points and 12 rebounds in Saturday’s game, his seventh double-double of the season. Faried is averaging 12.6 points and 9.0 rebounds in 26.9 minutes per game for Denver this season.
