Carmelo Anthony is tired of hearing about trade rumors

Unfortunately for him, he will have to keep answering the same questions for as long as he’s with the Knicks.

Carmelo Anthony is getting tired of denying trade rumors, and we can't blame him.

Before the deadline, Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reported that the Cavaliers, Celtics and Knicks had talks about a huge deal that would have sent Kevin Love to the Celtics and Melo to Cleveland. The deal was reported as a longshot, but LeBron James called the report "false" and Anthony dismissed it.

“There’s always some trade s--- going. I don’t pay attention to those rumors,” he said on Sirius XM NBA Radio, according to SI.com. “I’m not going anywhere.”

The deadline came and went and Anthony was not traded, but the rumors refuse to die. The latest involves the Boston Celtics expressing interest in Melo, who used his no-trade clause to block the potential deal, according to ESPN’s Ian Begley.

Anthony denied the report, according to Isola. Asked if he had been approached by Knicks management about waiving his trade clause, he reportedly answered “heck no.” He was even more succinct in an Instagram post clearly referring to the rumors.

It has to be tiring for Anthony to have to comment on all these rumors, even after the deadline. Unfortunately, he will have to go over this again in the offseason and next February, as his timeline and the Knicks’ don’t align and he holds a lot of the power over the negotiations with his no-trade clause.

Until he gets traded, Melo will have to live with the rumors, as annoying as they might be.
