Arron Afflalo agrees to 2-year, $25 million deal with the Kings, per report

Unrestricted free agent Arron Afflalo has signed a two-year, $25 million deal with the Sacramento Kings, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. The second year is only guaranteed for $1.5 million, according to USA Today's Sam Amick.

Afflalo, 30, averaged 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists last season and shot 38 percent from deep for the Knicks, who signed him to a two-year, $16 million deal last summer. Afflalo, however, was able to opt out after one season and exercised this option so that he could take advantage of the league's rising salary cap.

Afflalo is not quite an elite "3-and-D." He lacks the lateral quickness to keep up with some of the league's younger guards and at 6'5 is not big enough to bang with bulky small forwards. But he's a savvy veteran capable of putting in good effort on defense while knocking down jumpers on offense. He also can create his own shot, especially from the post. The Kings are rumored to be trying to trade Rudy Gay, and they'd need another shooter on the wing who can replace his scoring. Despite Afflalo's down year, that could be a perfect fit for him.

The Kings are Afflalo's sixth team of his career. He was drafted by the Pistons in 2007 and spent two seasons there before being sent to Nuggets. Four years later he was traded to the Magic as part of the Andrew Bynum-Dwight Howard deal. He thrived in Orlando and averaged a career-high 18.2 points per game in 2014 before being traded back to the Nuggets. He also played for Portland before signing with the Knicks last offseason.
