Team USA faces China again after a 49-point drubbing over the weekend.
Team USA has romped to two victories to start its five-game exhibition slate leading up to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The first was a 37-point drubbing of Argentina in Las Vegas last Friday, and that was followed up by a 49-point demolition of China at Staples Center on Sunday.
Durant and Green caught a chorus of boos from the sellout crowd in Los Angeles, although Durant claimed not to notice. He poured in a team-high 19 points in 18 minutes in the 106-57 victory, so the booing certainly didn’t affect his play.
Thompson also put on a show by scoring 17 points and matching Durant's four three-pointers. DeMar DeRozan, DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus Cousins and Kyrie Irving all scored in double figures for Team USA, who led by 13 points after the first quarter and never looked back.
Former NBA big man Yi Jianlian led China with 18 points and seven rebounds. Houston Rockets second-round pick Zhou Qi struggled with two points and five fouls in just under 19 minutes of action.
Durant should receive a much warmer welcome when Team USA and China get together again in Tuesday's exhibition rematch, as the pro-Warriors crowd will surely be excited to see its new star attraction.
