LeBron’s ejection didn’t stop the Cavs’ winning streak, and 8 other things from Tuesday night’s games

Kevin Love was on fire!

LeBron James and Kevin Love did whatever they wanted against a lackluster Heat defense that nearly allowed as many points to those two as it scored as a unit in the first half. This game was nearly knotted, 49-48, between the Heat and the combination of James and Love after the first 24 minutes (the Cavs had 75 points in total).

The Cavs won the night by just 11 points, 108-97, because LeBron James got ejected for the first time in his entire career during the third quarter. (That didn’t stop him from liking Odell Beckham’s Instagram, though). The referee who tossed him explained that LeBron threw an air punch, charged towards him and screamed curses in his ear.

Love led the charge even without James, finishing with 38 points on 10-of-16 shooting with nine rebounds. LeBron had 21 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and five steals in 28 minutes.

The Cavaliers are now proud owners of a bright, shiny nine-game winning streak. That’s a 10-1 record since the Arthur meme for those keeping count. What a surprise. The team with LeBron James on it isn’t actually bad!

Otto Porter’s jumper beats the Timberwolves

The Wizards beat the Timberwolves without John Wall, who is out with a knee injury, 92-89. Otto Porter took his place as the lead scorer with 22 points, and none were more important than these:

Kelly Oubre added 16 points to make up for Bradley Beal’s 2-for-11 shooting night, and that was enough for the Wizards.

Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins both shot under 35 percent from the floor, and coach Tom Thibodeau played just two bench players double-digit minutes.

That meant the starters totals looked like this:

Yikes. Classic Thibs.
