Foot Locker released a new commercial on Tuesday featuring none other than triple-double machine Russell Westbrook, and it’s sure to force at least one chuckle out of viewers.
Russell Westbrook hilariously jokes about triple-double stats in new Foot Locker commercial
Westbrook makes a joke of his triple-double season.
In the ad, Westbrook promotes the new Jordan 31 sneakers, while deflecting the notion that he’s fishing for triple-doubles by listing some alternative off-court stats he’s posted this season.
“For me, it’s all about getting wins,” Westbrook said. “But if you want to focus on the stats, you should know I crash into 1.7 cameramen per night. And I’ve created two times more parental neglect than any other player. And I lead the league in minutes talking to myself intensely. And my highlights kept Vine alive for an additional 7.4 months. And I’m appearing in 72 percent of opposing coaches’ nightmares.”
But Westbrook encountered one snag.
“Plus, I’m the all-time greatest Russell in league history,” he said before 11-time NBA champion Bill Russell challenged that thought.
“OK,” the Oklahoma City Thunder guard conceded. “Second-greatest Russell in league history.”
Good job, Foot Locker. Well played.
