John Wall injured his wrist in at the end of the first quarter of Game 2 against the Boston Celtics. While attempting to defend a Kelly Olynyk shot, Wall had his feet knocked out from under him and fell hard on his left wrist.

Wall stayed in the game and nearly willed the Wizards to victory thereafter. He finished with 40 points and 13 assists, keeping his team in the game throughout. But in the end, he was somehow still second-best to Isaiah Thomas, who dropped 53 points in Boston’s 129-119 overtime victory.
Wall faded a bit down the stretch, but he was still incredible in a way that shouldn’t be humanly possible. We should remembered that this is the same wrist he injured in the 2015 playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks. Wall stayed in that game as well, finishing with 18 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds while playing 39 minutes. He then returned to the court for Game 5 in that series just 10 days later despite having five small fractures.
While we hope that isn’t the case this time around, it’s clear John Wall is not afraid to play through pain. And the Wizards need it to even have a chance.
