The Spurs and Rockets series heads to a pivotal Game 5 Tuesday evening. This series has been a bit unpredictable from the start. Just look at the point differentials:
NBA playoff schedule 2017: Spurs-Rockets face off in pivotal Game 5
The Spurs and Rockets are tied at 2-2 heading into Game 5

Game 1: Rockets 126, Spurs 99
Game 2: Spurs 121, Rockets 96
Game 3: Spurs 103, Rockets 92
Game 4: Rockets 125, Spurs 104
It seemed like the Rockets had the Spurs number during Game 1. They came out completely dominant on the Spurs’ home floor, beating them by 27 points and, honestly, the game was never that close. But then in typical Spurs fashion, they rallied and won the next two games. Then in Game 4, the Rockets were back to that scary good team that stretches the floor and becomes impossible to guard.
It’s been a strange series and up to this point, it’s unclear if we’ll get a game where both teams bring out the best in each other. We can hope it happens Game 5, because when a series is tied 2-2, the winner of Game 5 goes on to win the series 80 percent of the time. It’s almost a Game 7 situation, without really being Game 7. This series deserves a duel between James Harden and Kawhi Leonard. Especially if we’re going to get a least six games of it.
