This accidental Kyrie Irving 3-pointer summed up the ridiculous foul calls to start Game 5 of the NBA Finals

This play was a direct result of the poor officiating to start the game.

Game 5 of the NBA Finals started off with a number of non-calls that were called. In one of them, Kyrie Irving tripped over himself and it was ruled a foul on Patrick McCaw. McCaw learned his lesson and decided to extremely exaggerate his not fouling Irving on the next play. It resulted in a ridiculous-looking Irving make.

With McCaw’s hands behind his own head, he backpedaled away from Irving. But the Cavs point guard still tried to force contact - similar to the way Curry was able to earlier.

It resulted in an odd-looking make that was entirely the product of some shaky officiating.

Though there aren’t many players aside from Iving — and again, Curry — who can make that type of off-balance three-point shot.
