Game 5 of the NBA Finals airs on ABC. What also airs on ABC? That’s right, America’s favorite, Jeopardy!
Kevin Durant got a little shade from ‘Jeopardy!’ right before the NBA Finals
ABC reminded OKC that Durant left for the Warriors.
The episode shown the same night as the game had a special question in the category “Sporting Life.”
“After a loss to the Warriors in the 2016 Western Finals, this Thunder stud didn’t beat ‘em, he joined ‘em.”
To which this contestant, Tucker, immediately replied “Who is Durant?” and Alex Trebek said, “Yes, Kevin,” just for those viewers who might not know.
This is more than a little shady, just to remind any OKC fans of their loss of not only the conference finals but also one of their stars.
Nice job, ABC! Of course, the episodes are filmed months in advance; according to former Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings, it’s about three beforehand.
So, if the Warriors had won Game 4, Durant would have already been a champion by the time this aired.
To those of you who say, “Well three months ago we didn’t even know the Warriors were going to be in the Finals?” — was there ever any doubt?
