The best play in a game of ridiculous highlights, statistics, and off-balance finishes may be LeBron James’ behind-the-back pass that counted for nothing on the stat sheet.
LeBron James deserves an assist for this perfect no-look, behind-his-back pass
This pass was magic.

James, covered in the paint, dumped the ball to Tristan Thompson that was just perfectly placed behind his back. Kevin Durant and Zaza Pachulia didn’t even come close to seeing it coming. It should have ended in a layup, but instead Thompson kicked out to an open Kevin Love three. He made it.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are having a historic night on offense. This play is one of many circus highlights made for the postgame recap, but it’s one that gave Cleveland some juice in the third quarter. They had a large lead coming out of an 86-point half, but even that didn’t feel like enough.
LeBron James is here to secure it one unreal pass at a time. He isn’t going to be swept without a full effort.
