The NBA Summer League championship round is set. The Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers will go head to head in the presumed Summer League finals on Monday at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

After an exciting semifinals round, the Trail Blazers emerged as winners over the Grizzlies and Lonzo Ball’s Los Angeles Lakers took down Dennis Smith Jr. and the Dallas Mavericks.

Portland’s standout first-round pick Caleb Swanigan put up 15 points and 11 rebounds in yet another impressive Summer League showing. He and Jarnell Stokes, who had 22 points and 15 rebounds of his own, led the charge on a 19-point Trail Blazers rally.

The Blazers won, 87-82.

Then Ball got off to another hot start for the Lakers, picking up 16 points and 10 assists through two-plus quarters. Magic Johnson pulled him after the rookie guard suffered left calf tightness, and Smith Jr. finished with 21 points and six assists. But even after the Mavs cut a massive deficit down to single digits, Kyle Kuzma’s 27 points on five threes and Vander Blue’s 17 points and six assists kept the Lakers lead afloat.

Now, Portland and Los Angeles square off in a championship matchup that showcases some of the most surprising young talent there was on display this summer.
