Ben McLemore has agreed to sign a deal for two years, $10.7 million with the Memphis Grizzlies according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes. McLemore has played all four years in the league with the Sacramento Kings. In the 2016-2017 season, McLemore averaged 8.1 points in just over 19 minutes per game. After his time in Sacramento, the Kings did not offer McLemore a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent this year.

McLemore is one of the players around the league that many feel has an untapped potential and that his time in Sacramento has not allowed him to develop into the player many hoped he would become. He shot 38 percent from the three-point line during the 2016-2017 season and obviously has some room to improve which is hopefully what will happen in Memphis with Coach Fizdale.
McLemore becoming a huge splash in free agency is unlikely but he is a quality “3 and D” type player that may be able to benefit from a change of scenery, especially with the basketball culture that the Memphis Grizzles have created.
