In a month and a half we’re set to get a way-too-early preview of the two teams expected to once again lead the Eastern Conference. That was always going to be a treat. But now there’s going to be SERIOUS BEEF on both sides.
- Will Kyrie and LeBron’s friendship be repaired in seven weeks?
- Will Isaiah leave the team he helped build into a title contender on good terms?
So many questions will be answered so quickly, and if the drama builds this could be the perfect follow-up to cupcake Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook MEGABEEF.
The complete trade for Irving includes Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the highly coveted 2018 first-round Brooklyn Nets pick, which is expected to be a high lottery pick in a lauded draft.
It’s tough to judge how much this will help either team just yet, but two conference rivals may never have made such a high-stakes trade with each other in league history. And given the teams and characters involved, this trade is by far the juiciest.
