The Heat and Raptors fought twice in one game, and 6 other things from Tuesday night

New beef!

A random Tuesday night Heat vs. Raptors regular season game sprouted playoff intensity throughout a scuffle-filled second half nobody could have seen coming.

The game ended with Miami’s Wayne Ellington hitting the game-winning layup with 0.3 seconds to go. But that shot paled in comparison to the fights that preceded and immediately followed it.

In the third quarter, Serge Ibaka and James Johnson got into a scrap that would result in them both getting ejected. The two exchanged pushes, then attempted to throw punches at each other.

They trash-talked all the way to the locker room.

Then, after the game, Goran Dragic and DeMar DeRozan went at it after the Raptors’ guard just barely missed a full-court game-winner.

It was all really bizarre, but now we have a playoff matchup to root for.

The Thunder got whooped by a Damian Lillard-less Blazers team

OKC has not faired well without Andre Roberson, dropping their third game of five, 117-106, to Portland, and it looked so much worse.

Offensively, the Thunder resulted back to their stagnant ways, watching Carmelo Anthony and Paul George try and fail going one-on-one too many times. They finished fine with 41 points on 35 shots, but that, supplemented with a 7-of-20 shooting night from Russell Westbrook, wasn’t going to do it.

Without Roberson, C.J. McCollum had his way with 27 points, and Shabazz Napier had 20 points on 10 shots.

OKC is now No. 6 in the West, halfway through their season.

Brook Lopez, three-point shooting god?

It’s not every day you see a Lopez three-point heat-check, but after his fifth make, that’s what happened. Lopez was en fuego, finishing 5-of-8 from deep with 18 points.

The Lakers cruised to a 99-86 win over the Kings.
