Warriors’ Patrick McCaw will have first pregame workout since injury

Patrick McCaw will return to the court for a pregame workout for the first time since his injury according to Yahoo!’s Shams Charania.

Patrick McCaw left the Golden State Warriors game on a stretcher after hitting the floor hard in a game against the Sacramento Kings on March 31. He was taken to UC Davis for further medical evaluation.

At the time, McCaw reportedly experienced numbness in his legs at first, but feeling came back completely. Later that night, the Warriors announced that McCaw’s chest X-ray and CT scan came back clear.

McCaw had cut to the basket and received a pass, but the Kings’ Vince Carter clipped him on his way up for a layup, causing McCaw to lose his balance and fall hard onto his back. Immediately, McCaw showed signs that he was in clear pain, and he stayed down on the court for around five minutes before being taken off.

Steve Kerr had an exchange with a referee, saying that he was mad at Carter.

It’s hard to see if Carter was intentional with his reach, or just reckless. He was distraught after seeing McCaw’s injury, although he was called for an and-one.

Eventually, the whole team was huddling around McCaw.

It’s a terrible-looking injury and awful situation all around. We’re hoping McCaw will be OK.
