Trae Young finally gave reason for fans to talk about him — in a good way — on Tuesday night when he went off for 24 points on 7-of-19 shooting against the Bulls. After starting off Summer League 6-of-35 from deep, Young looked sharp launching from deep, draining seven of his 13 tries.
Trae Young finally had the Summer League game we’ve all been waiting for
Young couldn’t connect in his first few games, but exploded for his biggest game of Summer League with seven three-pointers on Tuesday.

Young looked like the complete offensive package, too. He dished five assists, making his teammates look good on the interior. For the first time all week, he looked like a high lottery pick.
This is just the start to Young’s career, and you should never take Summer League too seriously no matter if a guy’s on fire or ice cold, but watching brick after brick from Young got tiring. Now, Hawks fans will have at least one game to hold onto as they wait for his rookie season to begin in October.
Here’s some other highlights from another fun Summer League night.
Grayson Allen continues to be good
Allen had 17 points against the Heat on 17 shots with seven rebounds and three assists for the Jazz. He’s been pretty good showing off his explosiveness and range.
The four-year Duke product has a chance to play real minutes for a playoff team next season, and he seems ready.
Wendell Carter showed what he can do on both ends
The Bulls might have something with Wendell Carter Jr. The No. 7 pick in this year’s draft went off for 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, five rebounds, and two blocks in a loss against the Hawks.
Carter has long arms made to protect the paint, and that may keep him on the floor over Bobby Portis or other bigs next year. Bulls fans should feel good about this pick so far.
