Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was announced as the cover athlete for NBA 2K19 Standard Edition.

2K made the announcement during a livestream event on Tuesday, which the Greek Freek attended. In addition to the cover, 2K reveal a trailer and screenshot of Giannis that shows off the graphics for the game.

LeBron James was named the cover athlete for the 20th Anniversary Edition of 2K19 back in June. It’s a good thing that 2k didn’t have James in a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey.

Now that the 2K19 cover athlete has been revealed, it’s begs me to question how long Giannis will stay in Milwaukee. It sounds crazy to think about that, but players tend to leave their team after being on the cover of 2K.

James continued the curse by leaving Cleveland and taking his talents to Los Angeles. Maybe Giannis might end the cover curse, but who knows.

Gamers are now able to pre-order NBA 2K19, which is set to release on September 11th. Here is the link to pre-order: https://www.gamestop.com/xbox-one/games/nba-2k19/164168
