Vince Carter’s NBA career is older than new teammate Trae Young

Yes, you’re old.

Vince Carter’s career is so old, it can be an NBA rookie in its own right.

At 41 years old, Vince Carter has found a new NBA team to continue his 20-year career. The future Hall of Famer has agreed to a 1-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. He’ll be working to help develop the young players Atlanta has acquired in their rebuilding process.

When you’ve been in the league for two decades, your career can be older than some players like Carter’s new teammate, Trae Young. Vince Carter was drafted on June 24, 1998. Three months later, Trae Young was born. Yes, you’re old.

When asked about how he stays fit, Carter told SB Nation “A 64 Chevy, it needs a lot of maintenance ... You always gotta stay working on it just to keep it running correctly. That’s kinda how I treat my body.”

Carter, along with Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry, is one of three players still active that played in the ‘90s, so these comparisons are hard to avoid. Last year when he played for the Sacramento Kings, Carter was actually older than Harry Giles and De’Aaron Fox combined.

Here’s to more Uncle Vince dunks that will make every current NBA player jealous.
