The Pelicans are so petty, they already removed Anthony Davis from their pregame video

It took two dang days!

The New Orleans Pelicans and Anthony Davis are broken up, and whenever a couple ends things, they have to decide how they’re going to handle it in public. Are they hostile? Are they over-the-top happy for one another? Are they going to delete each other’s existence?

The Pelicans, who still pay Anthony Davis because he still works for them, have chosen the last of those three options and decided to remove him from their team’s intro video played on the Jumbotron before games. There’s Jrue Holiday, E’Twaun Moore, Julius Randle, but nope, no air time for the MVP candidate who requested a trade earlier in the week.

And it doesn’t stop there! The team took him out of their Twitter banner photo, too. The breakup isn’t going so hot.

This makes it seem like Davis has played his last game with the Pelicans, even if he isn’t traded. (Davis is currently sidelined to a finger injury.) The New York Times’ Marc Stein reported it’s a possibility under consideration regardless of what happens by Feb. 7.

Taking Davis out of the intro video is a new form of petty, and must’ve taken incredible legwork from the team in such a short time span. Hard work is worth it for the drama, I guess.
