The trade deadline can be cruel for fringe-NBA players. It’s a time where guys can see their league-wide worth through tweets.
Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin were traded 3 times in 5 days. Then they got cut.
The NBA trade deadline is wild for some, and absolutely impossible for others. Stauskas and Baldwin are those others.

Some see they amount to second-round picks, or if teams just want to salary-dump them entirely. It’s a whole lot to handle at once. And some have that moment twice in a week. Or three times. Or if you’re Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin, four times. FOUR TIMES!
Stauskas and Wade were Portland Trail Blazers on Feb. 2. Then they became Cleveland Cavaliers after a trade on Feb. 3. Then, on Feb. 6, they became Houston Rockets... for 24 hours. Because then they were Indiana Pacers by the afternoon on Feb. 7. But that lasted a whopping eight minutes, as the Pacers then waived the pair.
What a dang ride, and somehow it wasn’t as wild as the legendary Luke Ridnour one. He had one more trade before he was waived during the Summer of 2015.
Still, best of luck to Stauskas and Baldwin. Hope they find someone to take them in for more than eight minutes.
