Pascal Siakam was completely dumbfounded by a reporter’s stupid question

Pacers vs. Knicks has been the series of the NBA Playoffs with both teams matching up fairly evenly and it being a nightly affair as to who can lift just a little higher to secure the win. On any night the smallest thing can tilt a game in the series, and this was the nuance Pascal Siakam was trying to explain.

Unfortunately it led to a weird back-and-forth between Siakam and reporter Gregg Doyel of the Indy Star, who kept on trying to dig for a headline when there really wasn’t one.

It can be a little difficult to hear what Doyel is saying, so here is a full rundown of what was said.

Doyel: How is that possible?
Siakam: What do you mean?
Doyel: How is it possible to not play hard enough in Game 5?
Siakam: What are you talking about? They played harder than us. It’s okay. We played hard, but they played harder. What’s your point? I don’t get it.
Doyel: My point is that you’re saying you got out fought.
Siakam: That happens in a game though. That’s basketball.
Doyel: In Game 5 of the NBA playoffs?
Siakam: You’re good? You’re good bro? You’re looking for something, I know, but damn.
Doyel: I just want to know.
Siakam: No, no ... but I’m telling you though. I told you. I don’t know what else you want me to tell you?
Doyel: Why don’t you tell me how? That’s all I’m asking for.
Siakam: Why don’t you tell me?
Doyel: Oh, oh, oh ... I will.
Siakam: So go ahead.
Doyel: You can read about it.
Siakam: Who is this guy? What’s your name bro?
Team employee: Gregg Doyel, Indy Star
Siakam: Oh ...

On the one hand I get that Doyel wanted a clarification, but he clearly started to get pissed off to the point he was being snarky to Siakam who was simply saying that he already explained his feelings on the game.

This isn’t the first time Doyel has been weird with a star athlete in Indianapolis. Last year he was forced to apologize after being incredibly creepy with Caitlin Clark by asking her to make her heart hand gesture at him.

Just bizarre.
