Man, Kentucky is talented. I know we say that about every one of John Calipari’s teams but geez. Seeing it in person puts a whole new perspective on the kind of players the guy can assemble on one roster.
Kentucky Vs. Oklahoma: Wildcats Lead By 14 At The Half
Everyone, and I mean everyone on this Wildcats roster can play. Freshman Doron Lamb came off the bench when Darius Miller when out with his second foul and dropped in 10 points. Fellow freshmen Brandon Knight (8 points) and Terrence Jones (12 points, 8 rebounds) essentially controlled the tempo of the game.
But give credit to the Sooners, they’re hanging around, down 42-28, it’s not completely over. Andrew Fitzgerald led the way for Oklahoma with 10 points and 3 rebounds.
The Wildcats are fast, they’ve shot the ball well (56.3 percent from the field), and they’ve hit the boards (19-10 rebounding advantage). Hilariously though, they’re 0-for-5 from the free throw line. Will Calipari ever have a team that hits its free throws?
Despite their shortcomings at the charity stripe, I see Kentucky pulling away in this one by the 10 minute mark in the second half. The just have too much talent for the Sooners to handle.
