Within the first two minutes of the second half, Memphis committed two quick turnovers that resulted in scores for Georgetown on the other end. The Hoyas continued to execute quick plays and flashy passes inside to bypass Memphis’ defense with ease.
Georgetown Vs. Memphis: Hoyas Lead Climbs To 13 Over The Tigers
On the other end, Memphis was continuing to commit unforced turnovers, and just as the announcers were criticizing the Tigers for going for highlight reels, D.J. Stephens pounded home a rim-rocking, one-handed, Blake Griffin-esque dunk over several Hoya defenders. He was fouled on the play, but missed the point after.
Memphis has given themselves many more opportunities to score with their offensive rebounding, but their second chance points just aren’t coming like they’d like them to. The Hoyas, however, are seeing success with their Princeton-like offense and passing inside to their cutters for easy scores.
Both teams, however, are committing fouls more than they should, and Memphis went into the bonus with just over 13 minutes to play.
