    With seven of the Big East’s 16 teams ranked at the beginning of conference play, it seems like every game has implications for the polls. The Wednesday evening tilt between No. 9 Georgetown and No. 15 Notre Dame was no exception.

    And it was Notre Dame opening its conference schedule in impressive fashion, thumping Georgetown by 14 points in the Big East opener for both teams. Notre Dame never trailed in the game and led for the last 31 minutes. With the win, the Irish are a perfect 9-0 at home.
