The Michigan State Spartans are closing the gap in the second half after finally heating-up. Against the Syracuse Orange’s tough zone defense, the Spartans are starting to knock-down shots after the Orange looked to be in control with an early second-half run. Durrell Summers is leading the way on the inside, leading the Michigan State scorers with 13 points.

Kalin Lucas and Korie Lucious’ ability to penetrate and find the open man has been a key to the Michigan State run. The Spartans are knocking down shots, hitting 6-17 threes to pull within three of Syracuse midway through the half. Draymond Green has been active on the glass, grabbing nine rebounds, after Syracuse dominated inside in the first half.
Rick Jackson picked-up his seventh double-double in the year early in the half, terrorizing the Spartans inside to the tune of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Kris Joseph sits at 12 points and Scoop Jardine has nine early in the second-half.
With just under 12 minutes to go, Syracuse leads Michigan State, 50-47.
