For much of the first half, the score in the Big Monday headliner between the Pittsburgh Panthers and Syracuse Orange looked to be tailored for the many football stars in attendance. After Pitt went on a 19-0 run to start the game, Syracuse countered with a 17-0 run of its own. Having established a lifelike basketball score of 19-17, the teams agreed to switch to regular mode for a moment until Pitt took off on another 7-0 streak.
Syracuse Vs. Pitt: Nasir Robinson Top Scorer At Halftime Of Back-And-Forth Big Monday Game
The halftime score is 31-27, which somehow is a totally reasonable basketball score. Oh, right, football stars. For some reason Ben Roethlisberger and Larry Fitzgerald are here.
Pitt’s Nasir Robinson leads with 10 points, but Cuse’s C.J. Fair is gaining on him. The Orange forward has eight. Syracuse began to assert itself much more on the glass as the half wore on, winding up with only four fewer rebounds on the half after falling behind by as many as nine boards.
