Arizona Vs. Stanford Game May Be Cancelled In Wake Of Assassination Attempt On Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords
Rep. Giffords had been meeting with constituents outside a Tucson grocery store when an unnamed assailant opened fire with an automatic weapon, according to reports. The latest reports have Giffords and at least two others (one a child) seriously wounded. At least two victim -- an aide to Giffords and a federal judge -- have been reported to have died from gunshot wounds. Giffords, a second-term Democrat, won a closely contested election in November.
Arizona was scheduled to host Stanford at 6:30 PM Eastern in Pac-10 play.
