Barack Obama To Attend Basketball Game On Aircraft Carrier

Michigan State and North Carolina are scheduled to play a basketball game on an aircraft carrier on Nov. 11th. On Thursday, it was announced that President Barack Obama plans to attend the game.

We at SB Nation took some time out this afternoon to discuss the political nature of this story. We have many, many opinions about politics, and you can see every single one of them after the jump:

  • Doesn't the President have anything better to do? Seems like he's trying to run 'way from the real problems in this country.
  • Obama is just plane lazy.
  • Obama ought to take off his bomber jacket, put on his suit, and get to work on the deficit.
  • I don't want to get stern with you, Mr. President, but you can't just bow out whenever there's a problem.
  • Maybe we should lay off on Obama. I'm sure hull figure something out.
  • Hey Mr. President, the 2012 election isn't a done deal. You can't just expect your campaign to carrier water for you!
  • Obama's dead wrong if he thinks publicity stunts like this can propel him to a win in 2012.
  • Mr. President, we need to solve our financial crisis. We can't just keep asking China to float us more money.
  • Solving complex problems such as the ones that face our country today requires a lot of planning, forethought, and cooperation. The President shouldn't just wing it.
  • Hey Obama, just because you're the President doesn't mean we're going to warship you. You have a job to do!
  • Mr. President, I'm sure this is a game you don't want to miss. I'll bet you'll wish you'd spent that time balancing the budget, though.
  • Are you sure this is the right time to be going to some basketball game, Mr. Obama? We have huge problems in this country, and the deck is stacked against us.
  • We need to get to work! Wake up, Mr. President!
  • Going to see a ballgame when you're supposed to be working? They ought to dock your pay for this, Obama.
  • Obama needs to pick up some political points -- the sonar, the better.
  • We've wasted enough time, Mr. President. Enough naval-gazing.
  • We need a sense of urgency. With these sorts of problems, we can't afford to be torpid. Obama, get it together!
  • Obama, I don't want to be crass... but you really need to Harrier ass up and balance this budget!
  • **UPDATE: 16:26 THURSDAY** Chris Mottram of the website SBNation.com originally submitted the following, but it was mistakenly omitted: "Obama has been feeling a lot of heat. Seeking re-election isn't easy!"
