No. 11 Kansas vs. Georgetown Recap: Jayhawks Hold Off Hoyas

Georgetown put up plenty of fight, but in the end youthful mistakes did them in, allowing Kansas to escape with a 67-64 win in the final game of Monday's first round action at the Maui Invitational. Thomas Robinson dominated in the paint for the Jayhawks, finishing the game with 20 points and 12 boards, while teammate Tyshawn Taylor went 3-for-3 behind the three-point line to finish with 16 points.

“It’s frustrating,” Hoyas coach John Thompson III said, according to the AP. “The things that we can control, we should control. We’re going to play against a lot of good teams that are going to do things where there’s nothing you can do, but there are a few things we can control. We’re not going to be singing this young team song all year.”

One of the things that Georgetown can control is moving the ball -- and on Monday, they simply didn't do it enough. They finished the game with just six assists as a team, with nobody tallying more than two. Jason Clark led Georgetown with 15 points, while Hollis Thompson added 14.
