Yancy Gates came off the bench to score 17 points and grab 12 rebounds to lead Cincinnati to a 58-46 victory over 11th- ranked Georgetown in a Big East slugfest at Verizon Center.

Dion Dixon supplied 17 points in a reserve role while Rashad Bishop added 12 for the Bearcats (22-6, 9-6 Big East), who took a big step toward punching their ticket to the NCAA Tournament with a signature win.

Austin Freeman netted a game-high 19 points and was the only player in double figures for the Hoyas (21-7, 10-6), who lost for only the second time in their last 11 games.

For the Bearcats, this win could have been the clincher that gets them into the NCAA Tournament. It was their 4th win over an RPI Top 25 team and furthermore it was a dominating road victory.
