Georgetown’s Chris Wright Breaks Hand In Loss To Cincinnati

No. 11 Georgetown lost a big game Wednesday night, dropping a 58-46 contest to Cincinnati at home. It’s the player who left during the game that may prove to be the much-worse loss.

Star guard Chris Wright left the game at the 16-minute mark and did not return. The reason? Wright broke his hand during the second half. Coach John Thompson III confirmed the injury and said there was no timetable for his return.

“For him to ask to come out, he’s in a lot of pain.”

It’s no surprise that the Hoya offense sputtered after Wright left. The guard led Georgetown in scoring seven times this season, including each of the past three games. Wright finished with two points and shot 0-for-6 on the night.

Join the misery over at Casual Hoya as they try to figure out how Georgetown will salvage their season, especially as the Syracuse Orange come a-callin' this Saturday.
