The Missouri Tigers are moving on to the second round of the Big 12 Tournament after their 88-84 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Big 12 Basketball Tournament 2011 Bracket Update: Missouri Holds Off Texas Tech 88-84
Guard Marcus Denmon led the Tigers with 20 points on 8 of 16 shooting on the night while Michael Dixon and Kim English also chipped in with 17 and 15 respectively. Denmon also helped the Tigers come back from blowing their 13-point second-half advantage by sinking the second of his two free throws with 1.7 seconds left in the game.
The Tigers advance to play the Texas A&M Aggies in the second round of the tournament. Missouri narrowly lost in its regular season meeting with Texas A&M, dropping the road contest 91-89 in overtime. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
