Ohio State Wins 2011 NCAA Tournament 2,305 Times Out Of 10,000 Chances

Advanced math and science formulas have been applied to the 2011 NCAA Tournament bracket to determine how March Madness will be played out. Basketball Reference ran 10,000 simulations of the Tournament, and the winner 2,305 of those times was Ohio State -- far more than any other team. Duke won the second-most times (1,523) and Kansas the third most (1,215).

The Final Four in the simulation is as predictably boring as most experts’, with all four one-seeds advancing to Houston. (Also: This is why experts pick one-seeds.) The teams that game closest to cracking the all one-seed Final Four were Texas, San Diego State and Purdue.
