It wasn’t pretty. In fact, it was rather sloppy on all fronts. Still, the No. 4 Duke Blue Devils will take their 36-34 halftime lead over the Clemson Tigers into the locker room and be happy with it.
Duke vs. Clemson Score: Blue Devils Lead 36-34 After Sloppy First Half
On Senior night, Duke’s Nolan Smith leads all scorers with 12 points despite shooting 4-for-13. Duke leads the game more because of it’s defensive intensity than anything happening on offense.
Meanwhile, Clemson shot a mere 13-for-35 as a team and added eight turnovers to their troubles. Their saving grace was a 10-0 advantage in bench points to keep them in the game.
The Devils will need to come out with a sense of urgency if they want to win the ACC title. A loss to the Tigers here and North Carolina will claim it thanks to their win earlier in the day. The good news is that Duke does well at bouncing back from losses. They are 7-0 in the last two seasons in each game after a loss.
