The 2011 NIT Tournament continues action on Monday night, with three more games in prime time, the final games of the NIT’s second round, and another round of tests for the tournament favorites.
NIT Bracket 2011 Update: Second Round Play Concludes Monday Night On ESPN
So far, two top seeds in the 2011 NIT Tournament have already been ousted, as Virginia Tech and Boston College both fell in second round games to Wichita State and Northwestern. Monday night, Alabama hopes to avoid a similar fate vs. New Mexico. Meanwhile, Miami hopes to survive as well, as they’ll face Missouri State at home.
And as the brackets begin to take shape on both sides, teams are looking to get one step closer to the NIT Final Four in Madison Square Garden. The winners tonight will be just one game away from a trip to New York City, and for many, just getting to Madison Square Garden can mean redemption for a season that didn’t go quite as well as they planned. But before they get there, they have to take care of business tonight.
Monday night’s games are below:
- No. 3 Missouri State Bears at No. 2 Miami Hurricanes, 7 pm, ESPN
- No. 4 New Mexico Lobos at No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide, 9 pm, ESPN
- No. 3 Oklahoma State Cowboys at Washington State Cougars, 11:30 pm, ESPN2
