The 2011 CBI tournament final has arrived, whether you were looking for it or not: the Oregon Ducks will play the Creighton Bluejays Monday night at 8 pm ET on HD Net, live from the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The evening’s biggest storyline: Oregon coach Dana Altman squares off against the team he coached last year.
CBI 2011 Championship, Oregon Vs. Creighton: Dana Altman Takes On Former Team For Title
Altman left Creighton after 16 years, during which he piloted the mighty Bluejays to five straight NCAA Tournaments and 13 straight postseason tournament appearances, including two March Madness wins.
Addicted To Quack has an excellent profile of the series — oh that’s right, I said series. The CBI championship is a three-game series, with the first in a neutral setting and the final two scheduled for Oregon’s Matthew Knight Arena.
Oregon reached the finals by topping Boise State 79-71 in the semis, while Creighton beat UCF 82-64 to reach Omaha.
