McDonald’s All-American Game Roster: Austin Rivers, Marquis Teague Lead Players To Watch

Austin Rivers headlines tonight’s 2011 McDonald’s All-American game. Rivers is the son of Celtics coach Doc Rivers, and is ranked as the best player in the country by Rivals. He will attend Duke next season and is one of the deadliest pure scorers in the high school game. An excellent shooting stroke, in combination with a love to compete and a desire to be the best, makes Rivers one of the top prospects in America.

Rivers’ backcourt teammate on tonight’s West team is one of the most dynamic point guards in the nation. It is fitting that he has committed to play for John Calipari, who has overseen talented point guards such as Derrick Rose and John Wall in recent seasons. Teague is described as near-unstoppable in the open court and equally as capable of setting up teammates as he is of scoring.

LeBryan Nash is another member of Rivals top five players that will tonight play on the West team. Next season, the six-foot-seven-inch small forward will suit up for Oklahoma State. Nash is one of the best athletes in this year’s McDonald’s game.

One of the best matchups of tonight’s game will be between Rivers and North Carolina recruit Bradley Beal, who is rated as the No. 2 shooting guard in the country behind Rivers. Beal possesses one of the smoothest jump shots in high school basketball.

Tonight’s game tips off at 10 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN.
