McDonald’s All-American Boys Game: McAdoo, Gilchrist Power East To 111-96 Win

Defense? Don’t think so. The 2011 McDonald’s All-American Game featured all of the highlight reel action you’ve come to expect from these kind of games.

James McAdoo and Michael Gilchrist led the way for the East by showing off their range and scoring 17-points apiece in a 111-96 win over the West squad.

McAdoo, the North Carolina commit, showed off great range off hitting shots from inside and outside the three-point line. Kentucky-bound Gilchrist was Mr. Do It All, showing off his abilities to score, rebound and dish.

Big East fans are officially on notice when it comes to Pitt’s Khem Birch. The big man played ferocious defense, garnering six blocks to go with his 15 points and 10 rebounds in a losing effort.

Duke’s Austin Rivers, considered the No. 1 player in the nation by most, played a quality game, showcased by a reverse lay-up he scored through two defenders. He finished with 14 points.

Meanwhile, Kentucky’s Anthony Davis may have put his claim in for the No. 1 player in the land as he dominated the perimeter and shot-blocking.

After trailing by 15 at the half, the West made a game of it, tying things up at 57. Eventually the East pulled back ahead and remained in control as the game concluded.
