Former Kentucky Wildcats swingman Desmond Allison, 30, was murdered in Columbus, Ohio Monday afternoon. He was killed outside an apartment complex from a gunshot wound to the chest in a tragic crime.
Desmond Allison Remembered By High School Coach
Almost as soon as that news started to make the rounds, former coaches, teammates and many more chimed in with remembrances and kind words for him.
One person who probably knew Allison better than most was his high school coach, former Robinson High coach Scott Wagers. Wagers spoke with The Dagger and talked about what kind of a man and basketball player Allison was before his untimely-passing.
He was the kind of guy that nobody who you were, he’d talk to you and treat you like he’d known you his whole life. He never had an ego, and the dude was hilarious. He could have went on a comedy tour. He was a blast to be around. He was always in a good mood, always laughing and always smiling. A lot of kids get an ego when they reach superstar status, but he never did.
