Desmond Allison Killed In Fight Over Baseball Cap, According To Report

The tragic death of former University of Kentucky basketball player Desmond Allison took a sad turn Wednesday afternoon, following new developments in the ongoing investigation. According to police reports, Allison was shot to death as a result of an argument over a baseball cap.

Reports from eyewitness accounts of Malcolm Goff and Tina Underwood state that the argument began as the former Kentucky swingman was talking on his cell phone outside an apartment complex. During the conversation, his ex-girlfriend swiped the hat off of his head, and Allison’s current girlfriend -- who had purchased the hat -- began to argue with the woman.

They say Allison exchanged words with one of the women before he and Goff walked away. Later, they say, three men approached Allison and that one of them - a relative of one of the women - argued with Allison. They say another man began shooting.

Hours later Allison died at a local hospital at the age of 31. Columbus Police believe the two incidents to be related, though no proof has yet been discovered.
