Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari appeared on Memphis radio station WHBQ Thursday to discuss the state of college basketball when the conversation veered towards the inconsistencies that seem to exist between coaches that are penalized different for NCAA infractions. Naturally, the conversation founds its way towards Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski and Coach Cal then said this...
Did John Calipari Take A Shot At Coach K?
“You’ve got coaches being fired over phone calls and text messages. Some. Other coaches can make phone calls and it’s not that big of a deal. But that’s the thing. We’re looking at this saying this has gotten out of whack.”
So was Coach Cal taking a thinly-veiled shot at Coach K? No way says Cal via Twitter...
My comments on the radio this morning had nothing to do w/ Mike Krzyzewski. He has actually been very helpful to me in preparing my DR team.
Which Calipari might not have meant to take a shot at Coach K, he most certainly was taking a shot at the way the NCAA is likely to deal with his infraction (slap on the wrist) compared to other coaches who received harsh penalties.
