To say the Indiana Hoosiers had a rough first half on Saturday might be an understatement. Facing an Ohio State team ranked No. 5 in the nation, the Hoosiers sputtered out of the gate and never got going in the first 20 minutes, scoring just 14 points in the half. One more time: 20 minutes, 14 points.
Indiana Vs. Ohio State: Hoosiers Go Cold, Score 14 First Half Points
Meanwhile, Ohio State hummed along, essentially burying Indiana before the break. The Buckeyes put up 35 points in the half, taking a 21-point lead into the second. Since then, Ohio State has managed to widen the gap and leads Indiana with just over 15 minutes to go, 47-23.
On the plus side for the Hoosiers, they’ve already scored nine points in the second half and appear to be on their way to eclipsing the first-half mark. It’s the moral victories that count, and if this game continues as it has been, that’s as good as Indiana can do.
