Five Florida players scored in double figures, and the Gators made up for a cold night from deep by capitalizing inside against the LSU Tigers in a 76-64 win on Saturday.
No. 17 Florida Vs. LSU: Gators Score 76-64 Triumph
Florida’s threes weren’t falling, but balanced scoring helped the Gators beat LSU on Saturday.
Erik Murphy led Florida with 15 points, and made six of his seven shots, but was joined by Bradley Beal, Erving Walker, Kenny Boynton, and Patric Young in double figures; all of those players had 11 points. Walker's pushed him to seventh on Florida's all-time scoring list, and Boynton's came without a three-pointer, ending his streak of consecutive games with a three-pointer at 34, second-longest in Florida history. The Gators won their 16th straight game at home despite making just seven of their 21 threes on the night.
LSU got little beyond center Justin Hamilton's 27 points. Only Anthony Hickey, who fouled out late, joined Hamilton in double figures, and he had just 10 points.
