No. 14 UNLV vs. New Mexico Final Score: Rebels Dispatch The Lobos 80-63 On Saturday Night

The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels defeated the New Mexico Lobos, 80-63, on Saturday night. The Rebels led by just four points at halftime, but ran the score up in the second half with 26 fastbreak points for the game.

The UNLV Runnin' Rebels defeated the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday night, but not before fighting through a tight first half. After six lead changes, UNLV was finally able to grab the lead, going up 39-35 into halftime. They would never relinquish the lead again, leading by as many as 22 points in the second half before settling on a 80-63 final margin.

The Rebels got 28 points from their bench in the win, including 14 in just 14 minutes from sophomore forward Carlos Lopez. Mike Moser added 14 points, as well as 10 rebounds (six on the offensive end) to pace the Rebels.

Four players accounted for all but nine points for the Lobos, led by guard Tony Snell and Kendall Williams. For the night, New Mexico shot just 38.6 percent from the field, compared to 51.7 percent for UNLV. The Rebels scored 26 points off of the fastbreak.
