No. 17 Marquette vs. South Florida: Golden Eagles Down Bulls, 67-47

The Marquette Golden Eagles had no issues defeating the South Florida Bulls, 67-47, on Tuesday night.

The No. 17 Marquette Golden Eagles picked up an easy victory over the South Florida Bulls, 67-47, on Tuesday night. Darius Johnson-Odom led the way for the Golden Eagles with 17 points and six rebounds.

Jae Crowder had a solid all-around game with 15 points, 6 steals, 4 rebounds and 3 assists for the Eagles. Davante Gardner also added 15 points while pulling down seven rebounds. The Marquette bench added just 12 points while every starter played at least 24 minutes.

The Bulls had trouble shooting from the field all night long, hitting just 35.6 percent of 45 shots. Putting up 14 three-pointers and sinking just four goes a long way in hurting a team’s ability to score. Twenty turnovers to the Eagles (as well as Marquette’s 13 steals) also made this a losing effort for South Florida. Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had a game-high 19 points.

Marquette visits the Villanova Wildcats on Saturday.
