No. 14 Murray State Vs. Tennessee State: Racers Get Revenge For Only Loss

The Racers blew the game open late in the first half, closing on a 14-0 run to stretch a three-point lead to the 45-28 advantage they enjoyed at the break. And Murray State's dynamic backcourt of Isaiah Canaan (24 points, five threes) and Donte Poole (16 points, four threes) had no trouble with the Tigers, both making at least 60 percent of their shots.

Tennessee State, which benefited from 18 Murray State turnovers in a 72-68 victory that stopped the Racers' 23-game winning streak to begin the season, did much less than it did in rallying from a halftime deficit to knock off the Racers on Feb. 9. Robert Covington had 24 points and 15 rebounds and Kellen Thornton added 17 points and 10 rebounds off the bench on Thursday, but just one other Tiger had more than four points in the game.
