Four Baylor players — Perry Jones III, Anthony Jones, Quincy Acy, and A.J. Walton — scored 12 or more points in the victory, and the Bears dominated in a first half that left them with a 40-15 lead at halftime.
The Red Raiders started the first half miserably and scarcely improved as the period went on. Texas Tech had just five field goals in the first half, and was held scoreless for the first 5:30 of play and another 4:55 stretch, then finished it on a field goal drought that lasted for 5:22.
Jordan Tolbert had 19 points and six rebounds to lead the Red Raiders, who scored 19 of their 48 points in the game's final 9:28, but shaved a grand total of one point off Baylor's lead in that span.
