No. 17 Creighton Vs. Evansville: Jays Lose Again, Begin To Slip In MVC

The Creighton Bluejays lost their second straight game on Tuesday to the Evansville Aces, and will be falling out of the national rankings if they can’t defeat Wichita State over the weekend.

Perhaps the Creighton Bluejays aren't going to have things easily in the Valley. They lost their second straight conference game on Tuesday night, and neither of those losses came against fellow favorites Wichita State. This loss came to the Evansville Aces, who recorded a surprising 65-57 home win over the No. 17 team in the nation.

Bluejays' star forward Doug McDermott put in a decent performance with 21 points and eight rebounds, but his teammates didn't provide much help for him on the offensive end. The Jays shot just 40 percent from the field and turned the ball over 16 times to Evansville's nine.

Evansville had lost their previous six games against Creighton, and move to 7-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference with this win. Creighton are now 11-3 in conference play, a half game behind Wichita State. The Jays can re-claim the conference lead this weekend, when they play the Shockers at home.
