Georgia Tech’s Glen Rice, Jr. Involved In Shooting Incident

Georgia Tech shooting guard Glen Rice, Jr. has been charged after a shooting incident outside an Atlanta nightclub that occurred shortly before the ACC Tournament.

Rice was with Georgia Tech student manager London Warren in a Cadillac Escalade. He was charged with permitting unlawful operation, while Warren was charged with DUI. Another passenger, Steven Pryor, was charged with discharging a firearm while under the influence.

Rice remains suspended from Georgia Tech’s basketball team stemming from an unspecified violation of team rules in February, while Warren has been dismissed.

Rice was one of Georgia Tech’s leaders this season, leading the Yellow Jackets in both points per game with 13 and rebounds per game with 6.7. However, his Georgia Tech career has been pockmarked with disciplinary incidents — both under former coach Paul Hewitt and current coach Brian Gregory — and his future with the team is unclear.
